On the way back from a weekend trip to North Snowdonia, I decided to stop off at Barmouth and take a walk up the Panorama trail. I’d been to Barmouth a couple of times but never ventured any further than the town itself.
It was mid morning, the sun was already quite high in the clear blue sky and in all honesty I wasn’t expecting to come back with a shot.
On arrival at the top, the views in all direction are breathtaking. It’s very easy to be sucked in by the magnificent views up the estuary towards Cader Idris and admittedly a lot of my time was spent focusing on this compositions despite knowing that the light wasn’t the best and that this view has been shot to death. Unfortunately, the light just wasn’t conducive to a great photograph.
It was only when I turned around that I noticed the aquamarine waters meandering through the grassy sand banks out to sea. I love the contrasting colours of the blue water against the green grassy sandbanks and the early autumn colours on the near hillside.
